Dr. Lewis is a native Californian who grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. She obtained her Bachelor of Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara and went on to earn her Master's degree in medical sciences at Boston University. Her research thesis focused on diabetic microangiopathy, which further fueled her passion for diabetes care.
She transitioned from research to healthcare and earned her Doctorate through the California School of Podiatric Medicine where she graduated with honors as a member of the Pi Delta National Honor Society. Dr. Lewis returned to Boston for her surgical residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where she served as chief resident and a clinical fellow in surgery at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Lewis is dedicated to providing thoughtful, compassionate, and uniquely tailored care toward improving her patients' quality of life. With every appointment, she strives to understand each foot and ankle injury or concern in the larger context of a patient's personal goals or needs. She is well versed in the most up to date surgical techniques and in conservative care. With a family heavily affected by diabetes, she is personally dedicated toward amputation prevention efforts. Her clinical interests also include bunion and forefoot deformities, lower extremity trauma, and overuse injuries.
Outside of the clinic and hospital, Dr. Lewis enjoys painting, spending time with her young family, and walking her dogs along the beautiful green belts of Davis.
